Ivan Krastev
Bulgarian political scientist, philosopher, Chairman of the Centre for Liberal Strategies in Sofia, co-founder of European Council on Foreign Relations, and permanent fellow at the IWM, Institute of Human Sciences in Vienna. In 2008 he was ranked 85th in the Top 100 Public Intellectuals Poll. He was also the Research Director of Political Consequences of Anti-Americanism, a three-year project carried out at the Center for Policy Studies (2004-2006). Krastev authored many publications, e.g. Shifting Obsessions: Three Essays on the Politics of Anticorruption (2004). Europe’s Democracy Paradox, The American Interest (2012), In Mistrust We Trust: Can Democracy Survive When We Don’t Trust Our Leaders? (2013), among others.
